THE CHALLENGE02 / 08

How do you get hundreds of people to care, and actually show up?

We weren't working with a large organization, established audience, or major marketing budget. We were a group of young adults with an idea. To make it work, we needed to simultaneously:

  • Build awareness around humanitarian causes that could feel distant from our local community.
  • Create an event compelling enough for people to spend their evening with us.
  • Recruit and coordinate dozens of volunteers, vendors, performers, and community partners.
  • Develop a recognizable identity and marketing campaign from scratch.
  • Manage the logistics of a large multicultural event.
  • Turn attention and attendance into meaningful fundraising.
THE STRATEGY03 / 08

Compassion without borders.

01 · Make the cause human

Rather than building the campaign entirely around fundraising, we focused on connection. Food became an entry point into different cultures. Performances gave communities a way to share their identities. Storytelling helped attendees understand why the fundraiser existed. The event wasn't designed around “please donate.” It was designed around: Come experience something together, and help someone while you're here.

02 · Build a recognizable brand

I developed the marketing and creative direction across the event experience, including: Social Media · Website · Email · Print · Event Signage · Promotional Materials · On-Site Experience. Every touchpoint needed to feel like part of the same event while remaining welcoming to people from different cultures and communities. The brand eventually centered around a message that captured what we were trying to build: Compassion without borders.

STRATEGY · DIGITAL CAMPAIGN04 / 08

03 · Create a digital campaign people wanted to share

Ahead of one event, our 90-day social campaign generated these results. Social media wasn't simply an announcement channel; it became part of how the community discovered and participated in the event.

STRATEGY · COMMUNITY & EXPERIENCE05 / 08

04 · Turn community into distribution

  • One of our strongest marketing channels wasn't an algorithm. It was people.
  • We partnered with churches, vendors, performers, community organizations, and volunteers who each brought their own communities into the event.
  • For our first event alone, the network grew to include: 20+ churches · 50+ volunteers · 20+ vendors · 10+ performances.

05 · Design the experience, not just the campaign

  • I helped coordinate vendor communication, volunteer teams, performers, check-in, signage, event layout, creative assets, community partnerships and day-of operations.
  • Marketing could get someone through the door. The experience needed to make them glad they came.
THE IMPACT06 / 08
Three events. Thousands of interactions. One shared purpose.
FIRST EVENT: ~350 PEOPLE, $7,000 FOR TÜRKIYE AND SYRIA EARTHQUAKE RELIEF · LATER EVENTS: GAZA AND SURROUNDING AREAS, CONGO · $21,000 FROM 2023–2025
WHAT I LEARNED07 / 08

All Nations changed the way I think about marketing.

The best marketing isn't always about getting the most impressions or clicks.

  • Sometimes success looks like 350 people walking through a door.
  • Sometimes it's a volunteer giving up their weekend.
  • Sometimes it's someone sharing a Reel with a friend.
  • And sometimes it's a room full of people from different backgrounds gathering around the same cause.
  • All Nations showed me that the skills I use to grow brands (strategy, storytelling, design, digital marketing, project management, and experimentation) can also be used to grow communities. That's the kind of work I want to keep doing.
MY ROLE08 / 08
Co-Founder

Built the concept and helped shape the initiative from its first event into a recurring fundraiser.

Marketing Lead

Led social media, digital campaigns, website, email, print, and promotional strategy.

Creative Director

Developed the visual direction and coordinated creative assets across digital and physical touchpoints.

Event Operations

Coordinated volunteers, vendors, performers, signage, check-in, partnerships, and day-of execution.

Community Builder

Developed relationships across churches, nonprofits, vendors, performers, volunteers, and community organizations.

The takeaway: Marketing gets people through the door. Community gives them a reason to stay.

All Nations is where my work in marketing, creativity, project management, events, and community building comes together, and a reminder that growth means more when it creates something bigger than the numbers.
